Tracey and Drew Cope launched a local non-profit organization in 2002, and started remodeling and repairing homes. They invested the next 8 years supervising and teaching hundreds of area teenagers various home improvement and repair skills, serving over 200 individual families and contributing almost 90,000 hours of community service for low income families and seniors to the Southern Chester County Community.

In 2010, sensing a shift in their personal mission and focus, the Copes moved away from the group mentoring setting and their teaching roles, to work one-on-one with teenagers in Foster Care. In January 2011, Tracey founded a new endeavor, Cope Home Services and Cope Home Repairs, organized under Unshackled Solutions LLC. In 2019, they rebranded as CopeBUILT Construction & Renovation to more accurately describe the lion-share of the projects they tackle, to attract a more targeted customer and larger project types.

Working together with Norm Madison, a second generation carpenter with 35 years experience in the trades, who built 250 custom dream homes from 2004 to 2014, the Copes are committed to providing their neighbors in Southern Chester County with professional home construction, renovations and repairs. An Emphasis on Client Education

Drew was raised in a family of Professional Problem Solvers who emphasized the importance of education and knowledge sharing. The question of "What do we do?" was always answered with the phrase "whatever it takes." He was taught growing up that “We can do anything we put our minds to. If we want something badly enough, we will find a way. If not we'll find an excuse.” He learned from lecturer Randy Pausch, “The brick walls are not there to keep us out, but merely to give us an opportunity to show the world how badly we want something.” And his mother made sure he memorized Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” Over 40 years of family holiday dinners, surrounded by Ph.D.-holding mechanical engineers, patent owners, CEOs and business owners, military brass, electrical and chemical engineers, and those with corporate management jobs, significantly influenced the way Drew and his college sweetheart and bride of 2 decades look at the world; hearing story after story of how each of these amazing people solved problems for their clients. Many of the now famous "Copeisms" were direct quotes from his Grandma Martha, a 1950s-era schoolteacher who taught her boys to “Find something you love to do, and then find someone to pay you to do it.” The Cope Family were strong believers in education and worked hard to give their kids opportunities to experience life and learn through trial and error, through experimentation.

With over 2 decades of construction experience under his belt, Drew continues this Cope Family tradition through our Cope Construction YouTube channel with our “Forever Home” mini-series and our Homeowner Education Portal here on our website. It is our hope, that whether you choose to hire our team, or not, these videos will help educate you on the home renovation process and equip you with the knowledge and the questions you should ask when you are interviewing a contractor to do work on your home. We look forward to the day when we have the opportunity to serve you at such a high level, that you feel compelled to write us a glowing Five-Star review on Google, you shout us out on the Social Media groups, and we officially welcome you as to our Loyal Tribe of Raving Fans, as our newest member!
